It’s a good idea to bathe your kitten early on in life—this way, she grows up with bath-time as a part of life, and it will be much easier to bathe your pet if she ever gets into something sticky or smelly. Here, your Aurora, CO vet tells you how to bathe your kitten in three easy steps.
Gather Your Supplies
First, gather together everything you’ll need by the sink or tub where you’ll be bathing Fluffy. You’ll require a feline shampoo, a large, soft towel, a cup or jug, and a few cat treats.
Wet and Wash
Fill the sink or tub with about an inch of lukewarm water, then gently sit your kitten in it to allow her to get used to the sensation. When she’s ready, use the jug and wet her body with more lukewarm water, taking care to avoid the face. Dab a small amount of the shampoo into her wet fur and massage it through.
Rinse, Dry, and Reward
Rinse kitty off with more lukewarm water, then gently towel her dry. Offer several cat treats for a job well-done!
