When you bathe your kitten early on, she’ll grow up with bath time as a normal part of life. Use these tips from a Savannah, GA to successfully bathe your kitten:
Gather Your Supplies
Gather all of your supplies near the tub or sink where you’ll be bathing Fluffy. You’ll need a feline-formulated shampoo, a soft towel, and a few cat treats.
Rinse and Shampoo
First, dip your kitten’s paws in lukewarm water so that she can get acclimated to the sensation. When she’s ready, stand her in about an inch of water, and gently douse her from the neck down with more lukewarm water. Now, dab a small portion of shampoo onto your hand and gently massage it through kitty’s coat, taking care to avoid the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Rinse, Dry, and Reward
Once your kitten has been thoroughly shampooed, rinse her off thoroughly with more fresh water. Now, wrap her in the towel to help dry her off, and offer a few cat treats as a reward. This will help reinforce the notion of bathing as a good thing, making things easier next time!
