Department of Transportation, Highways Division

Performs (1) engineering services and field inspections of transportation construction projects in conformance with approved plans and specifications and (2) maintenance, alteration and repair of roads, highways, and related structures.

Landslide mitigation activities include:

• Improving guardrail and shoulders on state highways
• Mitigating Hana Highway rockfall (Huelo to Hana)
• Stabilizing embankment slopes along Honopililani Highway (Honokawai to Kapalua)
